"Luck Of The Draw" Learn about the commonly used idiom that applies to all games of luck - and life sometimes.
The commonly used idiom "luck of the draw" refers to the
result of something occurring through completely random circumstances
and could apply to a situation in either someone's good luck or
misfortune/bad luck. It was originally derived from playing-card games
sometime in the 18th-century but now refers to any random event.
Examples: It was by the luck of the draw I got a corner office. United are getting the luck of the drawx As always, jury duty, is the luck of the draw. It depends on luck of the draw. You can't choose who you play against - it's just the luck of the draw.
